Isaac's 1st Birthday -Entry 1

Cake anyone??

Binky

Most babies either take a binky or they don't. And most babies who take a binky do so shortly after they are born. Not my baby! Isaac never like binkies -oh and we tried. I think binky are a great invention but Isaac just wasn't interested. Until he turned 11 months old that is. The reason for this change you ask -I believe it was his one year molars pushing through. The pain has been very intense and the sucking of a binky really seems to help.

So when most mothers are thinking about starting to removing the binky, my baby is just starting to love his! Oh well -what can you do. As long as he's happy! :)

Computer Desk

We have decided to turn the computer room into Isaac's play room. Finally I can get the toys out of our living room!! So we are getting rid of a lot of stuff and moving stuff -mainly the computer into our room. Adam's parents were nice enough to give us their old Apple computer so all we needed was to buy a small desk. Ikea here we come. As Adam started to put it together -Isaac decided to help. It was a very cute father and son bonding time!

Walker

We have been trying to get Isaac to walk more and more. And though he does walk on furniture and when we hold him -he hasn't yet progressed to standing on his own..truthfully he doesn't seem too interested in walking. He gets around pretty good by crawling. So we got him a walker -see below. He is totally uninterested. The reason: probably b/c the first time he tried it the walker rolled too fast for him and he took a digger! So -Adam and I thought "oh well -he'll figure it out on his own eventually."

Well, a few days later much to our surprise he found himself a new walker....his highchair! Not only is it on wheels but we can lock the front wheels which creates enough resistance that the highchair won't roll too fast so he can keep up with it and actually push it around the house. It's the cutest thing!

Hey- I want my money back on that walker!!!

Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was great! I am so blessed to be Isaac's mother -I thank God every night for allowing me the opportunity to be a mother to such a wonderful, amazing child!

And thank you mom for always being so supportive, loving, and for always being my biggest fan!! I love you!

Boys will be boys

We recently celebrated my niece's 8th birthday over at my parent's house. Before the festivities began my brother, my husband, and my nephew went outside for an innocent game of dodge ball. Well actually it was more like Bryan and Adam trading off turns pelting Nicholas with the balls as he ran screaming with excitement and laughter -Nicholas never returned the favor. Oh and Bryan and Adam were just as into the game as Nicholas -you should have seen them. Though they got a little too into it as one time they both pelted Nicholas at the same time (one ball hit him in the back and one in the head). The game had to stop for a few moments b/c Nicholas was crying. :( When asked if he wanted to stop playing though he took a big sigh and through his sniffles replied "NO!" And then the game began again with the same amount of enthusiasm!
Though quite amusing it also gave me a look into my future - - watching these same two men pelting my son with balls as he runs around with excitement! And here is the perfect picture of the game...now can't you just see Isaac in place of Nicholas?? I promise in 3 or 4 years I will be blogging this identical situation and pictures. Boys will be boys!
